    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare nggshowsimpleviewer() in /www/htdocs/w0093e39/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/nggflashviewer/nggflashviewer.php on line 204

    Ansonste super Addon!

  2. Boris says:

    André, hattest Du vorher NextGEN SimpleViewer installiert? Welche WP version nimmmst Du her?

  3. Sam says:

    Boris, hi gr8 add-on! esp the tileviewer! Thx!

    I have a problem with simpleviewer … i added [simpleviewer=13,500,600]
    to my post and all it returned was … just

    [simpleviewer=13,500,600]

    in the post …. No viewer appeared. I have uploaded the swf files as per your instructions.. Any ideas where it is going wrong?

  4. Boris says:

    Sam, what WP and NGG version do you use? Not too sure what the problem is right now. It works on my site here as you can see, although there do seem to be some problems with it…

  5. Brant says:

    I get this error on WP 2.5 after following the instructions above: “Sorry, NextGEN FlashViewer works only in combination with NextGEN Gallery.

  6. Boris says:

    Brant, I guess that means that you don’t have NextGEN Gallery installed. This is a requirement for NextGEN Flashviewer as it gets the images from there…

  7. laurent says:

    I really appreciate someone developped that plug-in, but unfortunately it does not work on my blog whih is wp2.5 and ngg 0.92 although i placed the swfs in the nggflashplug-in folder the page reds “[viewer.swf not found]” thank you for providing any solutions to make your wonderful toy work. thank you

  8. This is just what I was looking for! And it works flawlessly with WP-2.5. The display options for each viewer is really a much needed (and appreciated) bonus. Great job. SEE- http://tinyurl.com/2av54r

    It does have an one odd behavior of slowing/locking tab switching in Firefox. ?

  9. Boris says:

    Pablo, glad you like it and that it works.

    Laurent and everybody who has some problems:
    I am pretty new to php and programming and I will be away in the New Zealand bush for the next week, but I got a few books and I will start getting more into this whole programming bit. Hopefully I will be able to fix the problems some people have with my plugin in the near future. Please bear with me…

  10. ivan says:

    if you have any of the .swf (viewr, tiltviewer, autoviewer or any) installed twice of three times somewhere in any plugin directory it gives an error. so be sure to have any swf, only once in the total plugin directory and then it works. i had the same 204-error in php but not when it could get declared again.

    success,

    ivan

  11. Sam says:

    Boris, I downloaded the latest NGG for 2.5 and also using WP 2.5.

    Both the tileviewer and autoviewer work … but simpleviewer does not still work!

    I have viewer.swf in the plugin directory etc.

    Anyone finding the same prob? … Any pointers to why?

  12. Thorsten says:

    Same as brant:

    “Sorry, NextGEN FlashViewer works only in combination with NextGEN Gallery”
    WP 2.5, NextGEN FlashViewer 0.60, NextGEN Gallery 0.92, NextGEN Gallery Widget 1.21

    Nextgen is installed and working fine.

  13. Nina says:

    Hi Boris,

  14. LDMX says:

    i thing is cause when you unzip the file is not “nggflashviewer” is “nexgen-flashviewer” try to chance the name of file

  15. LDMX says:

    And 1 more thing the .SWF need to be inside “nggflashviewer” not in pluig in file root

  16. James says:

    http://jamesadamthwaite.com/chemtrails

    Same problem as Sam. Using WP 2.5 and NGG 0.92

  17. Boris says:

    @LDMX, I thought that was clear. With plugin folder I mean the nggflashviewer folder, not the plugins (note the extra s :) root folder. I’ll change that… You should always change the name of the plugin folder to the name of the main file, so nggflashviewer in this case. wordpress.org makes that .zip-file automatically and packs it into the the nextgen-flashwiewer.zip file…

    @All, off to work, have a nice week…

  18. martin says:

    hallo all,
    this is really a very nice plugin/addon and i am glad someone found the time to do this. however, i am also facing the problem that i can not successfully activate the plugin.
    i have nextgen gallery 0.92 working fine but when i activate the flashviewer i also get the message “Sorry, NextGEN FlashViewer works only in combination with NextGEN Gallery.” so the check if the nggallery class exists is somehow faulty … but i don’t know what. i’d appreciate any help on that issue because i would really like to use the flash viewer :)

    greetings to new zealand,
    martin

  19. James says:

    Thanks for all the help everyone! I’m still not having any luck.

    I have NGGallery 0.92 working. I have your flash plugin and the .swf’s installed and working. I can even get to the admin pages in “Gallery” and see the FlashViewe options for all the modes. None of the shortcodes work.

    http://www.jamesadamthwaite.com/chemtrails

    it’s just displaying the actual shortcode. When I use {gallery=1} it works, but none of the {tiltviewer=1,500,500} work.

    Thanks!

  20. Eric says:

    I confirm that after renaming the folder to nggflashviewer, the plugins can be activated.

  21. James says:

    I believe my previously stated errors was coming from the fact that i was posting the shortcode into a page and not a post. They work fine in a blog/post, but pages are zlich. Anyone else notice this?

  22. im using now in post and page (example= http://secretwatersmexico.com/?page_id=4 ) and no have problems provably is the theme. im using mandigo 1.28 wp-2.5 ngg-1.92 but i have thats problems when i put the plug in files in the main root of plug in (for mistake) so make file call “nggflashviewer” with plug in files and all the SWF inside and activate and try again

  23. ldmx says:

    I Put the simpleviewer but the background is black and i like put in white. how i do that??

  24. Stefan says:

    As there have been some questions of how to integrate nextgen gallery and highslide, my brother asked me to post the following link:

    http://travel-junkie.com/geeky-stuff/highslide-and-nextgen-gallery/langswitch_lang/en/

  25. Josh says:

    Hello I have installed nextgen gallery 0.92 and the flashviewer, but when I enter the code i.e. [tiltviewer=15,400,500] I only see a blackbackground and the images don’t load.

    Can someone help me?

  26. Henk says:

    Hello everybody,
    I have the same problem as Josh. Nothing works!

  27. Dan Murphy says:

    I get the following error while trying to activate the plugin, I am using WP 2.5 NextGen .92, and download the latest flashviewer and .swf files .60. Everything is working fine on my blog except trying to activate this plugin. Any help you can provide is awesome

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare nggshowsimpleviewer() (previously declared in /home/xxxx/public_html/dan/blog/wp-content/plugins/nggsimpleviewer/nggSimpleViewer.php:160) in /home/xxxx/public_html/dan/blog/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-flashviewer/nggFlashViewer.php on line 241

    For those of you who are seeing just black screens with no pictures check to make sure that your server doesn’t block hot-linking images, mine did and I turned it off and now everything works…just a suggestion!

    Dan

  28. Josh says:

    @Dan.

    I don’t think hot-linking causes the black screens, because the images are on my server in /public_html/wp-content/gallery/ .

  31. re: ldmx & tilt-viewer bug
    The inability to back out of a page which includes ’tilt-viewer’ and/or locking the tabs in Firefox is an unfortunate bug.
    Boris and Alex have done a great job on this project and I am sure, in time, they will work this out.

    LDMX
    That happen when you have simpleviewer plug in and flashviewer at the same time only can run 1 at the time. turn off 1 and try.

  33. Dan Murphy says:

    ldmx:

    Perfect you are correct thank you!

  34. Henk says:

    I found my problem for not working with the TiltViewer, I changed the permissions of the nggflashviewer folder to 755.

    Now it is working fine!

  35. Josh says:

    What could be the cause if Flash doesn’t work on a wordpress blog? Maybe it’s crossdomain issue or flashviewer cannot find the images stored in /public_html/wp-content/gallery/ or some other reason?

    All I see is a black square without any images.

    Danke

  37. rex says:

    he buddy really the pluging is cool. really thanks for the hard work.

    here is the question, on the very first paragraph

    “Latest Version: 0.60 – Changelog” how do you get the text info into the changelog link.

    thanks again.

  38. Boris says:

    @rex:
    it’s accomplished via Highslide, which is a javascript effect like lightbox. Have a look at the page source, then you see how it’s done…

    @Van:
    habe das auch schon festgestellt, allerdings nicht in zusammenhang mit nggfv. werd mir das mal etwas genauer ansehen…

    @Josh:
    which viewer do you have that problem with?

    @Henk:
    Glad it’s working for you… One out of X, eh? :)

    @ldmx:
    noticed already that with the flip option on you cannot go back to previous page within tiltviewer. this is not a nggfv bug. going back doesn’t seem to be supported with tv…

    @ALL: please note that there is a new version online and everybody should upgrade. please follow the upgrade instructions. this version should fix a bug where the regular expression wasn’t found adn al you saw was [...], when the link was part of a word…

  39. Prahli says:

    Hi zusammen,

    http://www.prahli.de/?page_id=7#TB_inline?height=560&width=500&inlineId=ngg_simpleviewer53

April.

    Gruß

  40. Katie says:

    Hi – Well, I figured out from the previous poster that I needed to change the name of the folder, so now it at least shows up.

    But when I go to the FlashViewer in Optioins, I am getting an error saying “The viewer.swf is not in the nggflashviewer folder. SimpleViewer will not work.” I get the same error for each of the appropriate viewers. I even uploaded them again and still no luck.

    I realize you may be out in the bush (isn’t NZ wonderful!!), so when you get back….please help! If I figure it out before then, I’ll let you know.

    You should get to North Island if you get a chance – it’s not nearly as rural, but it’s also quite beautiful, and the people anywhere in the country are just the best!

    Katie

  41. ldmx says:

    Check if the SWF are in:

    Upload viewers to the nggflashviewer/flash/ folder
    not only in nggflashviewer like before.

  42. rex says:

    sorry buddy i still could figure out how its done can u help.

    is it a plugin or a script? if its a plugin can u send me the link?

  43. Josh says:

    @traveljunkie

    “@Josh:
    which viewer do you have that problem with?”

    All viewers. They don’t show up except a black square.

    Internet Explorer 7 says there’s a unknown run-time error at line 82, sign 1

  44. Michael says:

    Hallo,

    Danke!

  48. catsudon says:

    Hi Boris!

    I sent you an email too but just in case you don’t get it I’m posting my issue here. How can I change the simpleviewer background color to a lighter one? It defaults to black and I can’t find any place to change it except for the settings where I can input a URL or an absolute path to a jpg. I did that, both the URL then the absolute path but neither would work. I see you have a white background on your demo above. How did you do that?

    Thanks!

    Catsudon

  49. Josh says:

    I have the same problem as Michael and Gytis described.

  50. Michael says:

  51. Boris says:

    Josh, I can’t reproduce your problem. Things work fine in IE 7 for me. Do you have that problem in any browser? Can you post a link?

    Michael, was genau musstest Du denn in den Templates bearbeiten? Danke.

    Catsudon, You need to change it in the settings. It’s background inner/outer color for TiltViewer. Set both to FFFFFF and you have a white background. For SimpleViewer it’s the same setting as you use for the NGG slideshow. I suppose I could change that…

  52. Michael says:

    Naja,eigentlich zeigen Tag archive nur Text an,also kein Flash.
    In vielen Themes steht also in der Archive.php :

    < ?php the_excerpt(); ?>

    ändert das nun in :

    < ?php the_content(); ?>

    Nun wird Flash auch in Tags angezeigt.

  53. catsudon says:

    Thanks Boris! That worked just fine! :)

  54. Ankl says:

    Hallo Boris,

    Sorry, NextGEN FlashViewer works only in combination with NextGEN Gallery.

    Ich habe beide Plug-Ins nochmal deaktiviert/aktiviert leider ohne Erfolg.
    Beide Plug-Ins sind auf dem neusten Stand.

    Hast du vielleicht eine Idee ?
    Gruß André

  55. Boris says:

  56. Alex Rabe says:

  57. Boris says:

    Thanks Alex,
    just uploaded version 0.71 that should fix this problem. It did on my local machine. So everybody having a “Sorry, NextGEN FlashViewer works only in combination with NextGEN Gallery.” error should upgrade.

  58. Ankl says:

    Thanks for your upgrade.
    The Error Message disappeared, but after upgrading I got a new failure.

    I can’t get into the gallery menu/backend. If I click on “Gallery” I get an 404 Error. The Link goes to http://…/wp-admin/nggallery-flashviewer/

    After deactivating your plug-in the problem is solved ;)

    Best Regards,

    André

  60. maierma says:

    Hi,

    nice plugin! I was wondering if you plan to add support for the “postcard viewer” swf (from the airtightinteractice webiste (where we also download the tltviewver etc)?

  61. Boris says:

    @maierma: I had thought about adding the postcardviewer, but it’s not really suitable for scaling. It seems to make only sense to watch in the fullscreen mode. If there’s a lot of demand, then I’ll think about it :)

    @André: I’ll look into it.

  62. maierma says:

    OK, I see your point, didn’t know about the scaling issue. I’m not too happy with the tiltviewer either (scaling, yes, but I find the postcadview bit more attractive).

    Thanks for the quick reply!

  63. Boris says:

    Actually, meierma, I had a look again and I should have read the documentation better. I am testing PostcardViewer right now and it should hopefully be available soon…

  64. In 2.5 there is the option of update automatic for all plug ins, and like you main file is not “nggflashviewer” is “nexgen-flashviewer” the plug need to be updato from the FTP and need to put the Swf again.

  65. maierma says:

    Great (and fast) work! Thanks for implementing the postcardviewer into your fab plugin!!

    Works fine – will play around with it tonight.

  66. Sven says:

    Havin the same problem with WP 2.5, NGG 0.94:

    The Gallery menu gives me a 404 after activating the plugin:

    Link goes to: /wp-admin/nggallery-flashviewer/

    Any Thoughts?

  67. Boris says:

    Hm, it should be /wp-admin/admin.php?page=nggallery-flashviewer, so in some instances the function adding the admin page seems to be buggy… Give me some time to sort it out…

  68. Boris says:

    @ André & Sven: have you renamed the plugin folder to nggflashviewer or left it at nextgen-flashviewer?

  69. Sven says:

    Was an issue with the renaming of the folder…renaming needs to be done manually. Maybe add this to the installation instructions.

    Also the viewer SWFs need to be in the folder ./flash (not the plugin nggallery-flashviewer dir itself). Maybe worth a hint in the installation instruction.

  70. Boris says:

    It’s all in the readme, mate, maybe worth a read, but no worries, i’ll update the post here as well…

  71. Ankl says:

    Hello,

    thanks for the tip of renaming the folder.
    No the plugin works well!

    Thanks a lot!

    Best Regards, André

  72. Prahli says:

    Hello everyone,

    I´ve got a problem with all of the viewers. But first: Plugins are the newest. The Folder is renamend rightly. And I can do settings as well.

    Put if I insert a tag (and it´s neccesary where) and klick on it nothing do. I get only a new text in the adress-field.
    Befor: http://www.prahli.de/?page_id=7
    After: http://www.prahli.de/?page_id=7#TB_inline?height=560&width=500&inlineId=ngg_tiltviewer53

    I thought an update will fix it. But it doesn´t. I also fixed, what Michael said.. but with no effect.

    Can anyone help me? Ideas?

    /wp-admin/nggallery-flashviewer was not found on this server

    Jetzt klappts

  75. Sam says:

    Boris,

    Hi, How can I call the viewers from a page instead of a post? What php code or javascript call can I make for a specific NGG gallery???

    Thx

  76. maierma says:

    @@ Sam

    Works just fine in pages, too, no need to change any code.

  77. Sam says:

    Thx maierma, I will try it …

  78. catsudon says:

    Hi Boris,

    Thanks for the latest update with the plugin! I appreciate all your great work. Anyway, here’s something I’ve observed, I don’t know if it has happened to anyone else. I’ve seen this with the earlier versions of the plugin and now the latest one too. The admin Write view of the categories seems messed up when the NG Flashviewer is activated. I thought it was just my browser but I tried it on Safari and IE and the same thing happened. Just to test, I turned off all my plugins one by one to isolate the problem and right away I found out it was NG Flashviewer causing the behaviour. Here’s what it looks like:

    Any ideas?

  79. Valle says:

    Hi!
    When I try to use any of the viewers with a link to open then in a full screen, the plugin cannot find the gallery XML file and it doesn’t work. Any ideas?

  80. czoczo says:

  82. DanGarion says:

    I’m having issues getting to my gallery when I have FlashViewer installed.

    In my admin screen the link for Gallery is going to (http://www.dangarion.com/wp-admin/nggallery-flashviewer) instead of the link it should be going to (http://www.dangarion.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=nggallery)

    I am having the same problem as “catsudon” with my Write Post page. When I have FlashViewer activated my catagories are all messed up, when I disable FlashViewer the problem goes away.

    I am using NGG .94 and NGG-FV .80.

    Thanks for any assistance.

  83. Boris says:

    @czoczo: you cannot have both the simpleviewer plugin and my flashviewer plugin installed. deactivate one and it will work. and rename that plugin folder to nggflashviewer instead of nextgen-flashviewer

    @DanGarion: same for you, mate. rename that folder…

    @catsudon:i’ve noticed that already. need to look into it…

    @Valle:can you post a link? works here…

  84. Boris says:

    Catsudon, should be sorted now.

  85. DanGarion says:

    I think your plugin is great, and I’m not complaining just making a suggestion, but wouldn’t it make more sense to have the folder named correctly in the Zip file? I run into this same problem with the NGG zip as well, because it’s not named correctly in the zip.
    Thanks for the resolution, I had tried it with the folder named both ways and it didn’t appear to fix it, but it’s working now.

    Thanks for fixing the category listing issue, FYI the version name is not updating in the current archive.

  86. Boris says:

    Dan, since the plugin is stored at wordpress.org the folder gets generated automatically and uses the plugin name as name for it. For obvious reasons I didn’t want the plugin being called nggflashviewer. Just renaming both the folder and the main plugin file to nextgen-flashviewer doesn’t seem to work, as the admin produces an error, but I should have some time over the weekend to figure it out…

    Thank you! It looks great! :)

    Hallo,

    Beispiel hier: http://www.contraproduktiv.de/wordpress/?page_id=12

    Hallo Boris,
    ersteinmal super Plugin :)
    Habe da mal eine kleine Frage bzw. Bitte

  90. Boris says:

    Hey Fabian, hab mir mal Lightview runtergeladen.

  92. maierma says:

    Hi Boris, just discovered something odd with the simpleviewer: It seems, I can’t change the colour of the pre-loader – it always goes back to grey (#999999). Strange.

  93. Chris says:

    Tiltviewer works great in firefox, but in IE it is pulling random images that are not in my gallery. I have no idea where they are coming from or how to fix this issue. Has anyone else seen this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  94. Boris says:

    @maierma: thanks for that. it’s fixed. might still be another day or so until i upload it. i want to bring in support for lightview in the next release.

    @chris: what does the tag look like you’re writing in your post? is it the flickr tiltviewer? do you have a link you can post?

  95. Josh says:

    @traveljunkie

    “Josh, I can’t reproduce your problem. Things work fine in IE 7 for me. Do you have that problem in any browser? Can you post a link?”

    Please take a look here http://www.gamevalor.com/?p=769/dawn-of-war-2-screens-and-site

    I used this code [tiltviewer=15,400,500]

    The images don’t load, nothing shows up. All other flash viewers don’t work either. I don’t know what to do.

    Please help.

  96. Boris says:

    This is very strange, Josh… When you have a look at the source code then you can see that there are 2 spaces in the javascript code where there shouldn’t be any. One in the xml link in between ‘nggTiltVie werXML’ and one in the swfobject link before ‘ flash/’. This is not a flashviewer problem, there never were any spaces. Have a look in nggFlashViewer.php around lines 344 and 387 (if you have the latest release) to see if the spaces are there. If they are, which would be even stranger, then download and install flashviewer again. If the problem persists, then there is some kind of conflict with another plugin…

  97. Boris says:

    Dage, du hast keine Galerie ID mit angegeben…

  98. Josh says:

    @traveljunkie

    Yay it works now! I followed your advice and disabled some plugins. Apparently this plugin caused the problem:

    “Force Word Wrapping 1.0.0 Prevents long sentancesconstructedlikethis from horizontally stretching the page. Ported from the phpBB MOD of the same name – Force Word Wrapping. For support / comments / whatever, visit the support forums. By Jim Wigginton.”

    After I disabled it, it worked fine! *dances* The images are quite large though and the edges cover each other.

  99. Josh says:

    Thanks for the help by the way.

    Hm I tried the admin options of flashviewer and when I click i.e. Tiltviewer it doesn’t load.

  100. Boris says:

    Josh, you’re not using WP 2.5 yet, are you? You resolve the big picture issue, when you set the largest image thing in the options…

  101. Josh says:

    @traveljunkie.

    The readme says “Requires at least: WP 2.1.0″ so the admin options for flashviewer should work.

  102. Josh says:

    Can this also be done manually by changing some code in the file?

  103. Boris says:

    I know what it says in the readme, mate :) But if you read the changelog, then you’ll notice that support for admin styles for WP versions < 2.5 has been deprecated with version 0.70. You should upgrade, really. Yeah, just edit the options in nggFlashViewer.php, then deactivate and activate the plugin and it should be sorted…

  104. Josh says:

    What exactly do I need to change in the nggflashviewer.php ? I don’t want to upgrade to WordPress 2.5 because I think they changed something with the categories which screws up the current structure.

  105. Boris says:

    You can change the options there. Look for function ngg_fv_default_options and adjust the settings…

  106. Josh says:

    I only got:
    ngg_fv_effects
    ngg_fv_irBackcolor
    ngg_fv_enable_right_click_open
    ngg_fv_langOpenImage
    ngg_fv_langAbout

    Maybe I need to edit something at /* Settings for TiltViewer */

  107. Boris says:

    Well, it just depends, on what you want to change and what version you use, Josh. All the options you can change are in that one function with a description for what they are and what they do…

  108. Josh says:

    Yay it works. Had to deactivate and reactivate the plugin too.

    Thanks a lot traveljunkie and keep up the good work. ^_^

  109. Sam says:

    *** NGG GALLERY NOT WORKING ***

    Boris, After installing 0.82, when you click on the NextGen ‘Gallery’ in WP2.5 admin screen. The link for the Gallery points to :

    http://www.desiblitz.com/wp-admin/nggallery-flashviewer

    And gives a 404 error. Thus, not allowing access to the NextGen Gallery!

    If I deactivate your plug-in then it is okay… So, everytime I want to do maintenance to the Gallery I have to de-activate your plugin… Not cool!

    I am using permalinks and WP 2.5 not upgraded to 2.5.1 yet.

    Any ideas how to fix this?

  110. Boris says:

    ah, sam, you know what’s not cool? you not reading the installation notes. or some of the comments here. or the readme file. rename that folder to nggflashviewer, mate and you should be alright…

    @ALL: NOTE: Automatic updating is NOT, repeat NOT, possible at the moment. Only good old FTPing!

  111. Sam says:

    Ohh soz .. m8! Thx!

  112. Sam says:

    Boris,

    For the Autoviewer, is there a way to have an animation gif display when pictures are loading? I have approx 50 pics in some of my galleries and when I click on autoviewer it shows the arrow and play buttons.. But no pics appear due to the loading of them ..

    This i think would make visitors leave unless they are aware something is happening .i.e loading pictures animation etc.

    Any ideas? Thx!

  113. DanGarion says:

    Suggestion for resolving the issue with the extra flash files being deleted if someone does auto-update, maybe you should have them put those files in a folder located in the wp root? That way they won’t get deleted, and then just have the plugin look for those files there?

  114. Boris says:

    Sam, loading bar is integrated with the autoviewer already. it’s part of the flash, so if you want to change that somehow you need to buy the professional version and then edit the source files. Can’t help you there, wouldn’t know what to do…

  115. Monkiboi says:

    Hey, great plugin.
    I am just starting to use it.
    I have a problem with the autoviewer though. I cannot get it to work. The initial picture is layered on top of the slideshow and the functionality is messed up. I have re-downloaded the plugin and the .swf functions. Any other thoughts or ideas on how to remedy. Here is a screenshot of what is happening: http://usedbongs.com/screencap/UsedBongs-GalleryError.jpg Sorry, the content might be NSFW, well not that bad…
    Thanks for any of your time.

  116. Boris says:

    Monkiboi, can you set up a test page with AutoViewer, so I can have a look at the source code? Right now, I don’t really know what could be wrong…

  117. Boris says:

    Monkiboi, I had a look and there’s errors in your xml file related to the php function get_image_size() that is needed to correctly display images in AutoViewer. The answer to this is to enable allow_url_fopen in your php.ini file. If you are on a shared server then ask your provider to do it for you. The only problem could be that the provider refuses. Good luck :)

  118. Monkiboi says:

    Thanks again for taking the time to help.
    I will see what I can do. I think I ran into this once before.
    Mahalo.

  119. Martin says:

    Hi Bo,

    hope you enjoy travelling – it looks like a great idea to leave Germany for some days//weeks//months. Sadly, I missed the chance. Now I am 33 and have home, wife and kid ;-)

    However, I love your plugin extension of Alex’ NGG. And I also experienced the problem with the renaming of the folder. I wanted to tell you about this bug and read all these comments here. I also think it is worth to mention in the installation guide and not only in the read.me (WHO is reading “read.me”-files?!?!? Especially, if there is such a nice installation guide ;-) ).

    So take this as a friendly reminder to update the installation guide – and enjoy your meal!

    Best from Berlin,
    Martin

  120. Boris says:

    Martin, it’s a great idea. It’s been almost a year now that I left Germany for this trip and still lovin it. Been away travelling and living in other countries about 6 out of the last 8 years and I wouldn’t miss that experience for anything. It’s never too late…

    I usually read the readme files. But maybe I’m not normal :) The Installation guide should be up to date… I think…

  121. Chris says:

    Hello

    My tag looks like [tiltviewer=8,800,600,*PNut1*]. It is not flckr. Works fine in Firefox, just pulls random images in ie. http://www.ohbabysotasty.com

  122. Boris says:

    Chris, somehow flickr pictures get pulled in, although it says flickr=false in the source code… Don’t really know what’s going on off the top of my head. Try deactivating your other plugins one at a time to see if there is a conflict.

  123. Mon says:

    Great Plugin I love it , but I found some kind of bug when I use the pro version of TILTVIEWER. hope you can help me.

    – Can’t Disable Flicker button .
    – Reload Button dissapear
    – Can’t get the transparent background.

    Thanks!

  124. Carlos says:

    Thanks for the plugin.
    All Flashviewers work for me with the exception of Tiltviewer. I’m using [tiltviewer=1,450,480] . When I view the page it starts to load fine then only part of the pictures appear, the browser (IE) freezes and CPU utilization goes to 100%. All I can do after that point is kill IE. I’m using latest version of WordPress, latest version of all Flashviewers, and my theme is Cordobo Green Park 0.9.3. Let me know if you need to see a sample. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  125. Dage says:

    Hi Boris,

  126. Boris says:

    Carlos, a sample would be good. Works fine for me.

    Same for you, Mon. As is works fine for me I can’t really say what’s wrong, if I can’t look at the sourcecode…

  127. Medwyang says:

    Hello Boris,
    I really appreciate this plug-in,
    it’s great!

    I had a question .__. /
    how do i click [Show as slideshow] to show a autoviewer rather than the default slideshow?
    i mean, could i make the NextGen gallery and NextGen flashviewer “really” combined?

    thanks in advance!

  128. Boris says:

    Medwyang, you’ll have to hack nggfunctions.php. Look for function nggShowSlideshow. I think that should be it…

  129. michael says:

    I was trying to get autoviewer to stretch to the width of the container or window, as in, setting width to 100%. This is the method used in the airtight demos, and I liked the effect. I’m not sure if you might be interested in incorporating this in future builds.

    To get there I modified your regex search in nggFlashViewer.php, line 214, slightly:

    FROM:
    $search = “@(?:)*\s*\[autoviewer\s*=\s*(\w+|^\+)(|,(\d+))(|,(\d+))(|,\*(.*?)\*)\]\s*(?:)*@i”;
    To:
    $search = “@(?:)*\s*\[autoviewer\s*=\s*(\w+|^\+)(|,(\d+\W+|\d+))(|,(\d+))(|,\*(.*?)\*)\]\s*(?:)*@i”;

  130. Laurent Hrybyk says:

    I love this plugin. Is the tiltviewer the only one compatible with flickr? That’s the only one that it works for for me.

  131. Boris says:

    Laurent, TiltViewer is the only one where you can use Flickr out of the box, yes. There’sa Flickr PostcardViewer, but you need to enter Flickr tags to see images and I have no plans of integrating that at the moment

    Michael, I might. Thanks for that…

  132. Boris says:

    Carlos, have you set the picture size properly? In IE your images are just huge…

    Mon, the reload button disappears, because you don’ have enough images for a second page. As for the rest, here’s something from the Pro documentation:

    TiltViewer-Pro can be used with HTML transparency so it can be layered over other HTML page elements. Check the ‘transparent.html’ example in the ‘examples’ folder.

    Due to a limitation in the flash player, HTML transparency breaks Fullscreen mode. Therefore you should turn off the Fullscreen option by setting the ‘showFullscreenOption’ config option to false. To support HTML transparency, add the following lines in the TiltViewer configuration code:

    fo.addParam(“wmode”, “transparent”);
    fo.addVariable(“bkgndTransparent”, “true”);
    fo.addVariable(“showFullscreenOption”, “false”);

    Try and do that, see what happens…

  133. Carlos says:

    Boris,

    That was excellent help! You guided me in the right direction. Apparently I was misunderstanding how the “Maximum JPG Size” in the TiltViewer Settings works. I kept chaning the value lower and my images kept increasing in size. I ended up setting it to 2200 and all works to perfection. Here is the link if anyone is interested in seeing how it works.

    PS. I was gonna buy you breakfast but no habla German. email me instructions and BF is on me!

  134. Boris says:

    Carlos, looks nice and glad I could help. Paypal language should be in english, but instructions are on the way, mate…

  135. Antonio says:

    Hi Boris, thank you for your great plugin. I’ve successfully added the lightview effect to it. I hope sharing this simple code lines will be useful:

    if ($ngg_fv_options['ngg_fv_effects'] == “lightview”)
    $out = ‘‘.$link.’‘;

    Where [VIEWER] must be changed according to the swf viewer.

    Bye

  136. Antonio says:

    Code posted has been parsed as html 8:
    sorry…

  137. Boris says:

    Antonio, I’ll test it out and pack it in the next release. Thanks for that…

  138. Antonio says:

    Glad to help you. For people who wants to try here’s an archive with the 2 files I modded to add lightview effect: http://peronicup.altervista.org/nextgen-flashviewer-lightviewmod.rar
    JS effect opens with autosize option, you can change easily with fixed or fullscreen size. Look to lightview homepage for the options. Lightview Plus wordpress plugin is needed.

    Here you can find a working example, clicking on the two images at the bottom of the page: http://peronicup.altervista.org/wordpress/?page_id=61

    I also have a suggestion: it would be nice to set the xml file option on the fly, i.e. set numbers of columns to show in the flash visualization, so every gallery can be adjusted accordint to images number.

  139. Antonio says:

    In order to make the link work you will need to copy and paste the address in your browser address bar. Sorry it’s my provider fault.

    http://peronicup.altervista.org/nextgen-flashviewer-lightviewmod.zip

  140. Alex Rabe says:

    Boris,

    das Problem mit dem Verzeichnisnamen ist das Gleiche wie schon mit dem NextGEN Gallery Check.

    Du musst

    add_action(‘admin_menu’,'modify_menu_for_nggFlashViewer’);

    in der Funktion checkNGGallery() aufrufen sonst gibt es die Konstante NGGFOLDER noch nicht und das Menü funktioniert dann nicht

  141. sebastian says:

Weiter so :D

  142. Zac says:

    It would be very useful if one could remove the text from the autoviewer. I like this option for use in the place of the gallery to provide a small slide show of pictures built into a page or message in WP. The numbers and captions cover up the picture when the frame is set to anything smaller than 500 pixels wide. If you are using a larger frame it’s fine, but it would be nice to be able to disable the text overlay. Is this possible?

  143. Boris says:

    Zac, you need the pro version to disable captions and numbers, but even then it’s a global setting, so you can either have it off or on.

  144. Erik says:

    I am using Nextgallery on our site and it works great but due to bandwidth constrictions I would like to use Flickr based images. I have set up an account at Flickr to do some trials but the code : [tiltviewer=flickr,500,700,+princeinfonet+] does not seem to work. Am I doing something wrong?

  145. Boris says:

    Eric, that depends on if you declared princeinfonet as a tag in flickr. Ok, check first that you entered your Flickr User ID correctly in the settings. Then make sure that you tagged the images you want to show with TiltViewer on Flickr with princeinfonet and then the tag should work. If not, let me know and provide a link where I can have a look-see…

  146. Erik says:

    Thanks Boris, I think one error has already jumped out : enter the FLickr User ID correctly :) Where do I do that ???

  147. Boris says:

    Erik, it’s where you can set all of the options. Go to your WP admin, then to Gallery and on to Flashviewer. Click on TiltViewer and scroll down. There’s a link as well where you can find out your ID…

  148. Erik says:

    Weird, I have both tiltviewer and simpleviewer installed as per Nextgen Gallery instructions but I do not have any menu option in Gallery that says Flashviewer??

  149. Erik says:

    I have in my plugins folder the following folders :
    nextgen-gallery
    nggsimpleviewer (this contains both tiltviewer ans viewer.exe (simpleviewer)

  150. Boris says:

    Ok, I don’t really understand that last comment, Eric. What do you mean with both TiltViewer and SimpleViewer and why per NextGEN Gallery instructions? Make sure you have the latest version of NextGEN FlashViewer installed and follow the installation instructions in the readme file. You can only use either my plugin or Alexs Simpleviewer plugin. Not both at the same time…

  151. Erik says:

    OK Forget my comment Boris, next time I just should RTFM and install as it is said. I guess I was even lucky to be able to use the tiltviewer at all as I installed it in the WRONG folder :)
    Anyway got things sorted now, here’s a link : http://www.princeinfo.net/blog/?page_id=97

  152. Tof says:

    Hi,
    I’m using this plugin on my website, in the “simpleviewer” mode.
    Is it possible to change the size of the current image displayed ? I find it too small… :-P
    thx

  153. Boris says:

    Tof, have you set the maximum image width and height properly? Simpleviewer scales the images automatically. If you set a bigger size for Simpleviewer, then the current image should get bigger as well…

  154. Tof says:

    Yes, I tried higher max height and width (basically 640, set to 800), but still the same size of pictures.
    Can it be due to the swf used ?

  155. BoTTHead says:

    Hi! First of all thanks for the great plugin!

    I hate internet explorer, but almost everyone use this horrible browser…

    I´m using autoviewer in a page, and it was working fine with 18 gallerys in the same page… but now the five last galerys on the page wont open…

    “The Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support are needed..”

    The first time, i´v got this message, deactvating nextgen Gallery and actvating again solved the problem.

    I get this message only in IE6, IE7, tested in Safari, Opera, Firefox and it works.

    I´m trying to solve this problem, changing the last 5 gallerys to another page and it works…

    I want to use the javascript effect to make the page load faster, but i can´t get it working… when i click on the link nothing happens..

    I´m using the latest version of NextGen Gallery and FlashViewer on
    Wordpress 2.3.3… (will upgrade soon)… can´t open flashviewer TAB options in this version…

    Any Ideas ?

  156. Boris says:

    Nope, not without a link to the problem, BoTTHead. Which effect are you trying to use? You know that to use the effect you need to have it installed already, right? It doesn’t come with the plugin…

  157. BoTTHead says:

    Ops, the link is here
    The problem occurs only with Internet Explorer!

    I thought that the effect highslide would have to be installed, but the thickbox would work by FlashViewer or by NexGen Gallery.

  158. arran says:

    First of all, thanks so much for taking the tiem to develop this plugin. Its great.
    Also, thanks earlier on when you mentioned “enable allow_url_fopen in your php.ini file.” for Monkiboi’s problem. I was having the same issue as him, but that fix you posted means everythign works now :)

    Just one request/quesion. I want to use autoviewer, but have it so it displays the images at their full size. I dont want it to shrink them or distort them at all. Similar to what michael mentioned earlier on in his post. So i tried his modification but it didnt work at all. The original code he mentioned for line 214 was totally different also.
    Is there a way to make it full screen like on airtight’s demos? They’re perfect.
    Cheers :)

  159. Boris says:

    arran, michaels hack should work. all he did was change it so you can use 100% in the template tag. the line to change should be 215 in nggflashviewer.php. I’ll probably incorporate that in the next release…

    BoTTHead,I don’t really know what the problem is. Sorry I can’t be of more help…

  160. BoTTHead says:

    doesn´t matter… it´s working with thickbox js effect now…
    it works out of the box .. :> i´v tried with hihslide but seems to be complicated…

    Thanks.

    Keep up the great work! I’ll get you some breakfast this summer.

  169. Jon says:

    Great Plugin! Nice Work! I just noticed that thumbpath calls the same path as imagepath, so when viewed in flash, the thumbs are just cropped and scaled down. How can I change the code to link thumbpath to the thumbs folder instead?

  170. Boris says:

    I suppose that thumbPath=”‘.$siteurl.’/’.$thepictures[0]->path.’/thumbs/thumbs_’.'” will do the trick, Jon.

  171. Jon says:

    Thanks! That worked out perfectly!

  172. Artisan says:

    Hi traveljunkie,

    Like the plugin a lot, thanks! Still figuring everything out, but so far so good, exactly what we’re looking for, though it looks like we ran into a bug.

    Gallery->Flashviewer->General Settings->Background Color

    We can set a bg color, update and all is well. Then if we update another field, say something under the Simpleviewer tab, the background color reverts to the default and if we go back to the General Settings tab, the new bg color we entered is gone and the form field is blank.

    It does seem though, that if we go back and reupdate the bg color, it sticks if it’s the last item updated.

  173. Boris says:

    Artisan, you’re absolutely right. Looks like a bug. Will have a look at it…

  174. Boris says:

    Artisan, just uploaded version 0.91. Should be fixed in that version. Cheers…

  175. Boris says:

    For anybody who’s interested… I’ve just released another add-on for NGG. Head on over to WP Plugin: NextGEN ImageFlow and check it out!

  176. Kai says:

    Thanks for a good plug-in. It is working great on my site.

    http://stockroomphoto.com/2008/05/18/night-street-of-hua-hin/

  177. Boris says:

    Nice, Kai. One thing, though. You should adjust the settings, so the images don’t overlap. Glad you like it.

  178. Andrew M says:

    I have the latest of wordpress, nextgen gallery and simpleviewer installed.

    Using [simpleviewer=4] in my post, I get simpleviewer to load, but it says gallery not found.

    Using [gallery=4] works fine.

    What am I doing wrong?

  179. Boris says:

    I don’t know, Andrew. It’s pretty hard to say without a test page to look at. Also, you say Simpleviewer. Do you have Flashviewer installed or Simpleviewer from alexrabe.boelinger.com? You might try to write a width and height into your tag, so for example [simpleviewer=4,500,500]…

  180. Andrew M says:

    I have NextGen Flashviewer plugin installed, and I followed the install instructions to add simpleviewer from Airtight.

    Here is an sample page:
    http://andrewmcdonaldphoto.com/wordpress/2008/04/27/bodybuilding

    The page contains output of thumbnails from the standard NextGen [gallery=4] tag, and also the output from using the tag [simpleviewer=4,400,300].

    Thanks!

  181. Andrew M says:

    For some reason, my last comment didn’t post.

    Anyhow, I’m using NextGen-Flashviewer, and I followed the instructions to download simpleviewer from Airtight.

    Here’s a test post:
    http://andrewmcdonaldphoto.com/wordpress/2008/04/27/bodybuilding

    Here you see both the output from the following tags:
    [gallery=4]
    [simpleviewer=4,400,300]

    You can see that simpleviewer is unable to find the gallery.

    Thanks!

  182. Boris says:

    Andrew, when I try to access the XML information for the gallery I get a 500 internal server error. Make sure you have the file nggSimpleViewerXML.php in the plugin folder. If it is there, upload it again. Maybe there was an error. Also, somehow this symbol ‘>’ seems have been transformed into the html entity ‘& g t ;’ (without the spaces, obviously).

  183. Andrew M says:

    I’ll try re-uploading all of the plugin files, maybe something was corrupted. The file nggSimpleViewerXML.php is definitely in the plug-in folder.

    How do I access the XML output directly?

  184. Andrew M says:

    I keep getting the 500 server error when I try to run the XML output directly. Seems to me that there is some kind of server config that the script is depending on, or possibly some other library that isn’t in the right place or is missing.

    As to the symbol “>” being swapped for “%gt”, I can’t figure that out for the life of me. It’s only in the one place.

  185. Andrew M says:

    I figured out why the “&gt” was appearing. I had left XMTL validation ‘on’ in the ngg slideshow options page. Clearly a something in that code. Doesn’t help with my XML output problem.

  186. Andrew M says:

    Well, I forgot that the way .htaccess is configured, you can’t direct access and execute a php file a folder within the wordpress directory. Once I moved the nggSimpleViewerXML.php to the wordpress root, adjusted the wpconfig location, I was able to get valid XML output. So, it does find the image files correctly. Now, if I could just figure out why it won’t work when called by the page…

  187. Andrew M says:

    The file ngg_SimpleViewerXML.php *has* to be in the root of the wordpress folder in order to function properly. It’s the same for the nextgen gallery slideshow feature.

    Basically, the way that file gets called will never work with my .htaccess settings unless I move them to the root of wordpress. Interesting. For now, I’m putting the files in the root of wordpress as a temporary workaround, but clearly something has to change.

  188. Oleg says:

    Hello!

    Thank you for such a nice plugin. Actually it works ok, I encountered only one problem – In my WP admin I cannot access Flashviewer settings for different viewers. Only general settings opens and on clicking on other items the nothing happens. so I can use the flashviewrs only by default. What may be the problem? I use WP-2.3.3
    Thank you very much.

  189. Boris says:

    Oleg, if you update to WP 2.5 then the admin area should work properly, as only the 2.5 styles are included. You should still have access to all options, though. Have another look. Just looks messy…

  190. mroesele says:

    Please keep in mind, that autoviewer won´t work if there are any special chars in the image file name, e.g. ‘image 01.jpg’.

  191. Stephantasy says:

    I’m having the same problem as Andrew M. The XML files are all in the plugin folder. If I embed the viewers into my posts, everything works just fine. But if I try putting in a link, I get “Gallery XML not found”. I’ve tried Andrew’s trick, too. But that didn’t work for me. :-( Any idea what’s wrong?

  192. Boris says:

    @Stephantasy: no, haven’t got a clue, not without a a link to the problem.

  193. Tom says:

    If i connect the “tiltviewer” to a page i have no problem. Its working great. But sorry for the stupid question. How can i solve the problem with a link from a picture? I like to set a picture what represent the gallery at a page. After click at the picture the tiltviewer with a specific gallery open.

  194. Andy says:

    Hi!
    This is weird.. everything worked fine for a long time but suddenly I get the “Gallery not found”-error. No matter which plugin I use the gallery isn’t shown except for the standard [gallery=1] prompt. I’ve tried to de- and re-activate flashviewer and nextgen-gallery itself but no use.. Tried to delete all unneeded htaccess-entries, no result. Hope u can help – how is the xml-file called?
    Here’s the link:
    http://www.onkelandy.com/blog/inhalt/daily-fotos

    Thanks!

  195. Boris says:

    Andy, what version are you running? When I try to call the XML file for a specific gallery I’m getting an error, which indicates that there’s some problems with the actual file. Maybe there were some problems while updating, so I’d download the plugin again and upload it manually.

  196. Andy says:

    Thanks for the quick answer. Actually the Plugin “WP Google Analytics” was the problem. It somehow screwed up the code somehow, kinda strange.. So it looks like that the XML process is quite picky but I’ve just killed the analytics plugin now and everything worx fine.

  197. Boris says:

    Hmm, that’s weird Andy. Have you tried including the analytics javascript manually in the footer? It’d be interesting to know if the problem was actually caused by the plugin or by the code.

  198. Jonas Nordström says:

    Is it possible to add hyperlinks to the caption part of each image, using simpleviewer? According to http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/faq.html Q14 it should work, but I can’t get it to work using the nextgen flashviewer and simpleviewer. The link is omitted, other html markup, like the bold-tag, works perfectly.

  199. Boris says:

    Jonas, SimpleViewer gets it’s captions from the title tag of the image. If that is empty, then it uses the alt tag. That’s why it might not work.

  200. Andy says:

    The code alone doesn’t seem to be a problem. I’m trying it with a different approach and everything works fine. Looks like the problem is the way the wp-google analytics-plugin is implementing the referer to the URL.. though it was validating correctly with that plugin. Strange stuff..

  201. logicalnot says:

    hi,

    first of all, thank you very much for this terrific plugin.
    It works great on my machine… but not on my website.

    logicalnot

  202. Boris says:

    Logicalnot, I don’t have any experience with server settings, so I’m not much help here, but if you provide a link to a test page, then I’ll have a look.

  203. logicalnot says:

    Of course,
    here is the temporary url :
    http://logicalnot.com/sally/2008/06/portfolio-a/

    Thank you.

  204. Boris says:

    Logicalnot, I found a few things you might want to check. First you have jQuery included twice, which isn’t a good thing. Then you run Thickbox and Lightview at the same time, which might cause some problems, it definitely gives you loads of overhead. The javascript for SimpleViewer gets included just fine, but the links to the XML and SWF file start with /sally/… and not with …logicalnot.com/sally/… like they’re supposed to. I would have a look to see if there’s another plugin causing the problem.

  205. logicalnot says:

    It now works ! Thank you sooOOOoo much !
    —————————————-
    — I mean like, like “soOO much” you see. :)

    It wasn’t a plugin conflict – the issue was the same even with only the nextgen plugins activated.
    Instead it was just a bad general set-up. The blog address was “/my folder” instead of “http://www.mysite.com/myfolder”. This happened because the wordpress install was automatic – a feature of my web hosting service.

    Everything seems to be running perfectly now.
    It too much to say that you saved my life but tonight you just made it much easier.

    Thank you very much.

  206. Boris says:

    No problem, mate :) And thanks for the donation, really appreciated.

  207. kruisko says:

    mal wieder was auf deutsch ;-)

  210. C.C. says:

    Hi!

    I am using your great plugin with Simpleviewer. I have the Pro version and I have been playing around with the nggSimpleViewerXML.php file to move the captions to the position of the title. My php knowledge is limited and usually I just play around with code and it seems to work.

    I have the thumbnails and navigation at the bottom and right above the thumbnails is the TITLE and and below the thumbnails is the CAPTIONS. I would like to have the captions above the thumbnails which would position it right below the image.

    Thank you in advance for your help.

  211. Boris says:

    C.C., it’s not PHP, it’s Actionscript, which is the programming language behind flash, so you need to adjust the viewer.fla file. No point in playing around with the XML file. Somewhere in your pro download files should be an options file. I’d have a look there first to see if you can do what you want by just changing some of the options. If not, then you need Adobe Flash to adjust the files. There’s a few options in the admin area you can change as well. You can check out the Airtight homepage for more infos on Pro options…

  212. Tom says:

:-( Trotzdem danke!

  215. Jonas Nordström says:

    Can you specify simpleviewer parameters per gallery? For instance, can I have one [simpleviewer=2 ...] with 4 columns and another with 5 columns?
    I didn’t fully understand the answer to hyperlinks, is it in any way possible to add a link to an external website in the image caption text? Any “hack” will do :)
    And last, is it possible to configure simpleviewer so that if you click on an image, it will be displayed full-size?

  216. Boris says:

    Jonas, right now the plugin options can only be set sitewide. I might have a look at Alex implementation of custom fields for NGG at some points and implement something similar for FlashViewer.

    What I meant is that links in captions might not work because of the way SimpleViewer gets its captions in FlashViewer, but I’ll have a look. Maybe I can figure it out.

    As for starting any viewer from a thumbnail it should be enough to just use a normal img tag as the link in between **. For example

    [pcviewer=1,500,550,**]

  217. Anand says:

    Hi there,
    I’m trying to download the installation zip file, and when i do, there’s nothing inside the zip file. Am i missing something here? :)

    Thanks!

  218. Boris says:

    I just checked, Anand. When I download the zip all the files are there. If you should mean the flash files, then you have to get them from http://www.airtightinteractive.com/.

  219. Anand says:

    my apologies – i redownload the zip files and the files are there already… sorry to bother you! :)

    off to explore…

  220. Tomas Kapler says:

    See it live my on http://www.developstudio.com/
    Thank you for your plugin

  221. Ben says:

    Was mir aufgefallen ist: Wäre es nicht möglich, beim Autoviewer die Schriftgröße im Admin-Panel mit angeben zu können? Also ich habe es geschafft, einfach in der “nggAutoViewerXML.php” die Zeile

    echo ‘description)).’]]>’;

    mit

    echo ‘<![CDATA['.strip_tags(apply_filters('the_title',
    $picture->description)).']]>’;

    ersetzt. Vielleicht kannst du es ja als Standard einbauen und ein Feld im Admin Panel machen. Eventuell auch einfach nur ein .div-Tag und du machst eine Textarea-Box im Admin Panel und man kann die Description selbst stylen.

  222. Ben says:

    Oops, da ist was verrutscht.

  223. Boris says:

    Tomas, nice implementation. I like it, even though I don’t understand a word :)

    Ben, hab nicht wirklich kapiert, was Du meinst.

  224. Tomas Kapler says:

    thank you – those are our designs of our clients (we are a webdesign company). I have rewriten your plugin quite a lot, so finaly I do not use galleries but posts for the informations on the back side of the cards etc.

  225. Ben says:

  226. Boris says:

    @Ben: die Zeile

    echo ‘description)).]]>;

    gibt es nicht in nggAutoViewerXML.php. Es gibt nur die Zeile

    echo '<caption><![CDATA['.strip_tags(apply_filters('the_title', $picture->description)).']]></caption>';

    , was bedeutet, dass Du bereits < font > in deinen Titeln verwenden kannst. Besteht also kein Grund das extra im Admin einstellen zu können. So ist es flexibler.

  227. Ben says:

    AAAAAH :)

    D.h. meine Beschreibung kann HTML enthalten?

  228. Boris says:

    Genau. Laut AutoViewer Homepage kannst Du i, b, font, a, u und br verwenden.

  229. Halibutt says:

    Hello there and thanks for your great plugin. I’m not sure it’s the right place to ask for help and I’m not even sure my problem is due to a bug or my stupidity.

    Anyway, I installed both plugins and all work just fine when it comes to galleries posted separately. However, when I post an album and tell NextGen to link a gallery with a page, it does, but still links to an old “NextGen-like” gallery and not the one in the page (with, say, [gallery=4] changed to [[simpleviewer=4,500,600]). The link is http://halibutt.pl/galeria/ , I explained the problem with more depth here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/184661?replies=1#post-789349

  230. Halibutt says:

    Disregard my previous post, it was my stupidity… For the record, before trying this you should turn the option “Deactivate gallery page link” off. As simple as that.

  231. I’ve installed NextGEN Gallery and your excellent NextGEN FlashViewer. I’ve created a gallery for the first plugin and a draft post to check the second one.

    As you can notice, AutoViewer and PostcardViewer work fine, but that’s not the case of SimpleViewer and TiltViewer (all of these viewers are using the same gallery). In order to check the error message produced by SimpleViewer (Gallery XML not found), I’ve looked into the source code; the XML file created by the xmlDataPath variable seem to work.

    Any idea?

  232. Boris says:

    Eduardo Larequi, can’t see anything wrong with the XML file and I don’t get access to draft posts. You’ll have to publish the post.

  233. Sorry, Traveljunkie, I forgot that only the author of the post can see drafts. Here you have the post: Más sobre NextGen Gallery y sus efectos (the date is June, intentionally; if I get it to work I’ll change it later).

    And thank you very much for your interest.

  234. Boris says:

    Eduardo, looks like you haven’t renamed the postcardviewer swf file accordingly to the installation instructions. Originally this and the simpleviewer swf are both called viewer.swf, which obviously causes a conflict. Try renaming postcardviewers swf from viewer.swf to pcviewer.swf and upload this plus the original viewer.swf (simpleviewer) again. As for the tiltviewer, I’ll have a look again tomorrow.

  235. Thanks for your help, Traveljunkie. Prior to installation, I renamed the postcardviewer file to pcviewer.swf and uploaded it, but it’s clear I made some mistake (probably I took another file instead of the right one). Now, three of the four viewers work fine. Tiltviewer is the only one which doesn’t work.

    In case of an error or corruption with downloaded files, I’ve downloaded tiltviewer again, uploaded once more, but to no avail.

    Thanks, again, for your interest and patience.

  236. Coudy says:

    Hi,
    ngflashviewer is great. Good job. But I can’t see filename for pictures. And how I can change resolution of displayed pictures? In config of flashviewer I have width and hight 800px. I have WP 2.6, and NG and NGflasviewer. All is updated.
    Here is my photogallery: http://www.chovan.net/fotogaleria/verejna/2007-stretavka/

  237. Boris says:

    Coudy, you can’t change the resolution. That’s done beforehand when you upload it. You can only set the maximum width and height of your biggest image. You should see the caption for each image. You could specify the filenames there.

  238. Korhan says:

    I am using simpleviewer and dont want any description of the picture not even the name (picture.jpg) displaying. What do i do in xml file???

  239. Korhan says:

    Ok, I solved the problem by eliminating this line in the xml file:

    else
    echo ”.$picture->filename.”;

    :)
    Thx for the plugin

  240. Alchris says:

    Hi I used michael’s hack of making size width 100%.
    Can you please help me update his code to have it both 100% width and height.

    There was also missing parts of his code. The folowing is what I used to make it work.

    “@(?:)*\s*\[autoviewer\s*=\s*(\w+|^\+)(|,(\d+\W+|\d+))(|,(\d+))(|,\*(.*?)\*)\]\s*(?:)*@i”;

  241. Alchris says:

    I just notice on my comment that michaels code was correct the blog is just taking parts off the code off.

  242. Robbie says:

    Hi Boris -
    I love the plugin, but seem to be encountering a problem getting AutoViewer to display properly. You can the error here: http://menfolk.net/houston
    Looks the pictures are there, but laying on top of one another.

    Hopefully this is something I can work around.

    Thanks for any insight.

  243. aRCaNGeL says:

    Good morning to everyone. I was the same problem that AndrewM and finally fix it. The problem (in my case) is that my server is Linux and, you know, nggsimpleviewerxml.php is not the same that nggSimpleViewerXML.php. I changed the names of XML files putting the uppercases letters and, voilá, it works.

  244. Corey says:

    First off I would like to say this plug in rocks. period.
    I’m looking for some support. Recently all effects stopped working but only on the IE7 browser. It’s getting script errors when you click on a thumbnail. IE6 works ok and so does firefox. the site is http://knoxshots.com Thanks in advance!

  245. Boris says:

    Corey & All: I am currently on Bali, Indonesia, where the internet connections are passable, but I had to sort my dive gear out and am leaving tomorrow to go to Sulawesi and then Kalimantan for some diving, culture and beachlife. This means for you guys that the support I can give at the moment is going towards zilch (most internet cafes don’t have IE7 for example). The bad news is that I will stay here for at least 7 weeks, followed by a few weeks in Malaysia, where things should be better. Most likely goingt back to Indo after that for another 2 months. The good news, of course, is that I will get a great tan. If you follow my normal blog posts (all my traveling stuff), then you’ll find out what I’m up to and when I can help you guys again…

    Thank you for this amazing plugin! Everything is working very well. However,…

    For some reason, I cannot get any links to appear on my image backsides. I do not want to use Flickr – Instead, I would like to link to my site’s post or pages or other online websites. I think I need to insert a “linkurl=http://www.websiteaddress.com” property somwhere.

    Can anyone please help me? Am I missing the place to insert my url for each image and/or gallery? What would the exact coding be? (I am relatively new to this end of things)

    What am I missing? :)

    Many many Thanks!

    Thanks for this awesome plugin! there is no however or but , ‘cos I really don’t know a lot of flash or php, etc hehe, I only wanted to express my gratitud for what you have done and the easy way to use the plug-in. Thanks … Tschüss!

    Hi,
    I have NextGEN gallery and NextGEN flash viewer plugins installed.

    I created several galleries with NextGEN and each gallery needs to be displayed on its own page with the simpleviewer function. The gallery ID names are the same as the page ID names (permalinks).

    What I would like is to have some php code in the page template that checks the page name and then displays the gallery with the same name.

    If I put [simpleviewer=3] inside the page via the admin panel it will work. But I would prefer to get it in there via the template. And not use the number of the gallery, but the name.

    Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.

    Hey! I just installed the autoviewer to a website I am working on, and I was wondering if there is a way to change the “next” and “play/pause” button as I would like them smaller. Is this possible?

    Hello,

    Thank you for the plugin. I have been using it for a while. I have a problem with autoviewer. It used to work but now it is not working! I have WP 2.6, again it did work fine before. I started using some new plugins since the last time autoviewer worked. I disabled them and no luck!

    I dont know what is wrong with autoviewer and appreciate your help.

    PS- Simpleviewer works fine.

  258. Coudy says:

    Hi,
    nice work, but can you add feature to sort gallery ascending or descending ?

  259. tboggi says:

    Hallo,

    Weiter so,

  260. korhan says:

    Ok, I solved the problem.

  261. maierma says:

    A “random option” would be nice (also for the ImageFlow-Plugin!) ;-)

    Awesome plugin, however I have a question that was similar to Tof’s about the sizing. On my page http://www.jamesapps.com/uncategorized/feature-film-kung-fu-flid/24/08/2008/

    I’m using your gallery plugin, but when I the fixedLayout of the options.as file in simpleviewer set to true it made the images way to small. So I turned that to false, but now for some reason the thumbnails do not show in the correct place and only one of the are showing up – there should be about 7 thumbnails.

    Can you shed any light on this please.

    P.S. How did you code your Commenting Guidelines tab under the comments textarea? That is cool.

    Thank you

  263. Sam says:

    Hi Boris,

    Using WordPress 2.6.2. The Autoviewer seems to get stuck on first picture and nothing happens upon pressing the play or right hand arrow.

    Any ideas why this is happening? .. Thx

  264. Boris says:

    Sam, I’ll look into it shortly. Not really much time at the moment and internet connection is horrendously slow (I’m in Makassar at the mo). I fly to KL later on today. I should be able to check things out there…

  265. Boris says:

    Sam, it works on my site here. I’m using WP 2.6.2 as well, so it’s got nothing to do with the programme. Can you provide a link?

  266. Boris says:

    James, I don’t think there is an option called fixedLayout (unless it’s a professional setting). The images only get too small when you haven’t set the max width and max height set correctly.

    The commenting guidelines are done with a bit of jquery magic like this:

    $(".slider").hide();
    $(".slide").click(function(){
    $(".slider").slideToggle("fast");
    $(this).toggleClass("active");
    });

    I upgraded to NextGen 0.99, and now Simple Viewer and the others simply don’t show up. Every thing worked FINE until the upgrade of NG 0.99 … Something get broke?

  271. Ceci says:

    First of all, what a great plugin! I just discovered it and it is just what I need. However I installed it and I get:
    The Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support are needed..

    I have the latest Flash Player available installed.
    I am using NextGen 0.99 (just updated today before installing your app).

    I will very much appreciate your help.

  272. Boris says:

    @ ALL!

    IMPORTANT: The current version is NOT compatible with the newest version of NextGEN Gallery. This is because NGG 0.99 uses version 2.1 of swfobject.js. I am almost done with the new compatible nggflashviewer version, but it might still take a few days. My parents are here in Singapore and Malaysia at the moment and I haven’t seen them in one and a half years, so that’s a bit more important really. Thanks for your patience…

  273. Ceci says:

    No problem, thanks for responding!
    Please can you let me know once it is ready and what we will need to do?

    Thanks, have a good time with your folks!

  274. Julien says:

    Hi Boris,

    This stuff is trully amazing…
    I’m waiting the 2.1 swfobject.js uptade.

    All is working well here but there is an issue, the excerpt are displaying:

    The Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support are needed..

    var so4485 = new SWFObject(”http://localhost:8888/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/imagerotator.swf”, “ngg_slideshow4″, “570″, “370″, “7″, “#000000″);
    so4485.addParam(”wmode”, “opaque”);
    so4485.addVariable(”file”, “http://localhost:8888/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggextractXML.php?gid=4″);
    so4485.addVariable(”shuffle”, “false”);
    so4485.addVariable(”linkfromdisplay”, “false”);
    so4485.addVariable(”shownavigation”, “false”);
    so4485.addVariable(”showicons”, “false”);
    so4485.addVariable(”overstretch”, “false”);
    so4485.addVariable(”backcolor”, “0×000000″);
    so4485.addVariable(”frontcolor”, “0×000000″);
    so4485.addVariable(”lightcolor”, “0xCC0000″);
    so4485.addVariable(”screencolor”, “0×000000″);
    so4485.addVariable(”rotatetime”, “3″);
    so4485.addVariable(”transition”, “fade”);
    so4485.addVariable(”width”, “570″);
    so4485.addVariable(”height”, “370″);
    so4485.write(”ngg_slideshow4″);

    I haven’t got any link to show you because I’m still in local yet, with Mamp and OS X.

    I’ve just found Excerpt Editor plugin and give it a try, it should be interesting anyway.

    Regards,
    Julien

  275. Poli says:

    thanks. Greetings from Turkey.

  276. Julien says:

    Hi again,

    I’m using Simple and Autoviewer. Autoviewer setup have only 4 fields, that’s a pity, Simpleviewer have much more options.
    Autoviewer seems to not work very well. Only the last pict is displayed and arrows doesn’t have any effects.

  277. Boris says:

    Julien, your last comment has got nothing to do with my plugins. That’s a NextGEN Gallery problem. I suggest asking in the WP forums. I’m sure Alex will sort you out fastest. As for this comment, I haven’t made AutoViewer, I just implemented it, so the amount of available options isn’t really up to me. Have a look at my examples, it works good there, at least last time I had a look.

    @ALL:
    I have finished the new implementation of SWFobject 2.1. The only thing I have problems with is making it compatible with Highslide 4.0, but I’m working on it as I write this…

  278. Julien says:

    No worries, thanks a lot for your masterpiece.

  279. Ceci says:

    What is Highslide? ;/
    Can we use Flashviewer now or not yet? what do we have to do?

    PS. how was your time with your folks?

  280. manE says:

    Thanks and waiting for your update!!
    fantastic job!

  281. Boris says:

    Ceci, it was awesome! We went to a little tropical island in Malaysia, then down to Singapore and back to KL.

    Highslide is a JS effect to open up images with. There has been a new version and the code has changed. I’m still looking for a way of working around that. Until then you can only use flashviewer with ngg 0.98. You’ll have to wait for version 1.1 to use with ngg 0.99.

  282. Boris says:

    @ALL:

    IMPORTANT:
    There will be a change in how I give support in the future. I have started a community. The link you can find in the menu all the way to the right. I have created a group each within that community for both my WP plugins. This is the preferred way for me to give support from now on. You can browse the group forum without joining the community, but to ask questions you will have to register for the community. The only other way for support will be through the WP.org forums, which I hardly ever visit though. I just don’t have the time.

    I am hoping this change will eventually lead to other people giving a little support as well. When I am travelling (and let’s face it, I’m travelling most of the time) I am out of reach a lot or simply don’t have the time or energy to wade through tons of comments.

    I’ll keep the comments open here for another couple weeks or until the community comes out of beta testing, but registration is open already.

    Cheers!

  283. Boris says:

    @ALL:

    I am running the new version already here and as you can see it all works apart from the TiltViewer. This was a bit unexpected, cause it works locally. You should expect the new version to hit the shelves in a couple days max, though…

  284. Boris says:

    Guys,

    I have a beta version for 1.1 for you to download and test. This one is compatible with the new NextGEN Gallery v0.99.1. Link is here:

    http://travel-junkie.com/travelogues/wp-content/uploads/nggflashviewer_1.1beta.zip

    What I would really need some feedback on is how other JS effects apart from Highslide work. I know already that the flash seems to flicker a lot when it gets opened in Highslide, but if you make a different observation, then let me know. Anything else you notice is welcome as well.

    Cheers!

  285. Ceci says:

    Boris: That sounds very nice and relaxing. =)
    I was in Singapore once, but only for a week.
    You should definitely include Mexico in your destinations list!!
    I can give you a free tour.

    I downgraded my nngallery version to be able to use your plugin. It now works perfectly! The only one that doesn’t work is autoviewer. So I am using imageflow instead. However, if you have a clue as to what might be the problem please let me know.

    Cheers and thanks again for great plugins!

  286. Boris says:

    Ceci, you can use the new beta version with NGG 0.99. I posted a link a couple comments back. If you give me a link with a broken autoviewer on it (it needs to be published) I can have a look.

    Thanks, I’ll come to Mexico eventually. I’ll take you up on that offer then. Right now I still have India, the Middle East and the whole of Africa to see before I can make it to America.

  287. Jack says:

    Thanks for the great plugin. Just one comment, may be you can add another processor to allow user change view. Something like this:

    [simpleviewer=3,500,600,allowuserchangeview=true]

    and this will add a dropdown list of all the views. so that user can change the view.

  288. Boris says:

    Jack, I really have no idea what you mean by changing the view. Maybe you can elaborate on that a bit?

  289. oli says:

    Since the newest update I get the error-message that Flash Player and JavaScript are needed – both are activated in my browser, I’ve got no problem displaying the Sample-Viewers on this page. Other PCs get the same message.
    All this happened after I updated the wordpress-Plugin to 1.1b and the simpleviewer to 1.9.
    Any ideas?

  290. Boris says:

    oli, you need to update NextGEN Gallery to 0.99.1. You’re still running 0.98, which is incompatible with the newest flashviewer version, because of the different flash detection script.

  291. mnemonic says:

    Hi,

    thx for the updated version. It works great.

    Is there a possibility to show albums from the NextGEN
    Gallery instead of the galleries?
    Or maybe pictures with a certain tag?

  292. Boris says:

    mnemonic, not at the time. next thing i’ll do is convert everything to use the new shortcode stuff introduce in 2.5 or something and then i was thinking about adding this, but don’t expect anything soon…

  293. Ceci says:

    Boris: what a great life! how do you pay your traveling expenses? I kind of envy you. ;)
    Whenever it is time for you to visit Mexico let me know. You have my email…

    Keep on enjoying life!

    Ceci

    PS- My autoviewer is now working fine, thanks!

  294. kai says:

    Hello, Boris. I’ve installed all the new files and everything works perfectly with no problems! i do have one question about presentation though. how can i remove the title of the gallery that displays above the thumbnails in simple viewer?

  295. Saro says:

    I would like to use ‘AutoViewer Full Browser Demo’:

    http://www.airtightinteractive.com/projects/autoviewer/app/

    in WordPress blog but I don’t know how to setup the link.

    Do you know how to do this?

  296. Faro says:

    Hi,

    I’ve installed Nextgen Gallery 0.99.1 and the beta version of Nextgen Flashviewer linked in this post : http://travel-junkie.com/geeky-stuff/wp-plugin-nextgen-flashviewer/#comment-2555

    I get this error in my homepage when I try to use this plugin in my posts:

    The Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support are needed..

    This error doesn’t appear in single page view

    What can I do to solve this problem ?

    Thanks in advance

    Ale

  297. Boris says:

    Faro, I’ll need a link with the problem. Just checked out your homepage, but couldn’t see an instance of the flashviewer used…

  298. Faro says:

    Thank you for your reply traveljunkie,

    I did a fresh install of nextgen gallery 0.99.1, and it seems to be solved now. Here you can see an inline gallery perfectly working:

    http://www.phargon.com/blog/foto/oasti-di-santalessio/

    Actually I’m unable to use the javascript effect (thickbox or lightbox) and I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong (you can see it on the same link I’ve posted before, just under the inline gallery)!

    Thank you for your patience

    This is a great add-on!!!

  299. Tom Murphy says:

    This is probably a very basic question that to most will have an obvious answer.. but to someone as new as me.. I’m stumped.

    The instructions for NextGen FlashViewer say:

    Go to your post and enter tag [simpleviewer=GALLERY-ID,WIDTH,HEIGHT,LINK(optional)],

    I’ve tried putting it everywhere… but don’t seem to have any success. I tried it in the TAG field where it seemed I was instructed to put it.. but no luck (and yes, I did put in the correct gallery ID, height, width etc.)

    Can someone help?? Where does this code belong?

    Tom

  300. Boris says:

    Tom Murphy, you just put it where you write your post. Wherever you want the flash to appear in the context of your post.

  301. Tom says:

    MAGIC !

    Boris, I am sure I tried doing exactly that last night (put it where you write your post) and it did not work. I tried it again this morning and voila! success. Works fine. Like I said, magic!

    Now my problem is that I can apparently only put the active viewer in a post… not in the homepage of the WordPress blog.

    Can it not be used in the non-post pages?

    Hi Boris,
    i’ve problem with autoviewer. It looks crappy.
    Take a look here http://www.paj-photo.fr/?page_id=354
    Pics doesn’t slide and are under-exposed, also the page seems very heavy.

    I had this on my local machine too, but was solved when NGG and your flashviewer were updated recently.
    But since I moved WP on a distant server, problem is back again.
    I’ve tried many way to resolve:
    -rename pics with simple name
    -resize in little
    -reduce number of pics on gallery
    -de/reactivate plugins step by step
    -trying XHTML validation
    -hoster (infomaniak) doesn’t use php safe mode but open_basedir

    Nothing works.
    Otherwise, simpleviewer simply works fine.
    Check here http://www.paj-photo.fr/blogg/?p=491

    Have you any idea??

    Also, where can I find previous versions of NGG Flashviewer?
    Maybe a down/upgrade will solve it?

    Greetings.

  303. Boris says:

    Ju, you should be able to get the older versions from wordpress.org. You’re looking for the one with the 1.0 tag. If you do downgrade you have to downgrade NGG as well, though, otherwise nothing will work. Am on my way to Indonesia, so can’t really take a look at the mo…

    Hello !

    Great plugin, very useful and simple !

    I managed to make it work very easily but I was wondering if there was any way to get rid of the “dotted border” which appears when you click on the flash.

    You can see this here, on the right/left of the flash : http://lapongue.info/lap0ng/screen_flash.png

    The main problem is that I have a black background and it doesn’t fit very well with it.

    I tried to find a css rule or whatever but didn’t get to it.

    Has anyone an idea ?

  309. mh says:

    @Chris,
    ha das selbe problem.

    Der thickbox link funktioniert aber komischerweise wenn du die selbe gallery auch als inline einfügst.

    Ich benutze deshalb diesen workaround:

    [autoviewer=1,640,480]
    [autoviewer=1,800,600,*pictures*]

    Das problem ist glaub das der Ajax Aufruf nicht startet. Ich seh jedenfalls keinen in Firebug Console.

    @traveljunkie
    fix please :)

  315. Boris says:

    Dhanu, not sure really, what went wrong. Lately there have been a few people complaining about problems and all had index.php in their permalink, maybe that’s got something to do with it. I’ll look into it, but it might take a while…

    Tom, why don’t you try using the function in your template? Something like

    < ?php echo nggShowSimpleViewer(13,'500','600') ?>

    But I have to admit I am too new to php and WP themes to know what to do with this.

    I did try inserting it into the home.php page in my theme editor.. but all it did was create a huge white hole in the page with a footer that reads “simple viewer” (I had to take out the space at the beginning between the < and the ?)

    Can you give me a little more direction as to how to use that line? Apparently it is working.. but not calling my particular slide show.

    Thanks very much.

    Tom

  318. Boris says:

    Sorry Tom, I should have been a bit clearer. You have to change the numbers in that line. first one is your gallery ID, then the width and then the height of the gallery. Just put it anywhere in your theme templates where you want the gallery to appear.

    < ?php echo nggShowSimpleViewer(13,'500','600') ?>

    Great plugin!
    I tried to join the community but it won’t let me login even after email validation…..
    So I will put it here.
    I have it working wonderfully on my old WP 2.6 site.
    But when I try to get it to work on WP2.7b+ Nexgen 1.0b3, I got the ““Sorry, NextGEN FlashViewer works only in combination with NextGEN Gallery.” I know you probably still waiting for everything to get finalized before you dig in. But just want to post to see if I just screwed up.

  325. Markus says:

  327. Boris says:

    jak, i’m working on another project at the moment and don’t have time to sort my community here out, so login and registration isn’t possible at the mo.

    i’ve got a rewritten and fully compatible version with wp 2.7 and ngg 1.0 already sitting on my laptop. doing tests at the moment and will release it once wp 2.7 is out and about…

  328. blakndrose says:

    Hi Traveljunkie,

    I’m trying to get simpleviewer working with NextGen gallery. I’ve managed to get the sidebar widget to display the image but I get “The Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support are needed..” on the page I put the code in for the gallery. It might be due to my theme Comicpress…but I don’t know php too well and I can’t tell where to try the “” in the index if that is indeed the problem. I’ve googled all the faqs I could find, but I can’t seem to find an answer.

    Page in question:
    http://jessicachrysler.com/?page_id=17

    Anyone’s help is greatly appreciated!!

  329. Boris says:

    blakndrose, I had a look on your site and it seems that you’re using NextGEN SimpleViewer. Your NGG installation is using SWFObject 2.1. That is incompatible with the Simpleviewer plugin you’re running, so I suggest you either ask Alex (creator of NGG and NGG SimpleViewer) to make a new version that supports the latest NGG version or you use my plugin, which should run without any problems.

  330. Chris says:

    Hello again,

    I have a question to you about your Highslide installation.

    I have also installed it (like you) into my one homepage but the char set is different. Can you have a look here:
    http://www.cm-it.de/zeichensatz.jpg
    and give me some more information’s to fix this?

    I think it have to do with UTF-8 but I can’t solve the issue

    I’ll like to have it like you on your Site.

    Best Regards

    Chris

  331. Brandon says:

    Traveljunkie – First off, I really like this plugin. Thank you for your continued efforts! Of particular interest to me is the SimpleViewer and I am having one problem… If you look carefully at the SimpleViewer configuration page of your plugin, you will see that you have the options for Horizontal and Vertical alignment backwards. The choices for “Horizontal Align” are “center, top, bottom” and the choices for “Vertical Align” are “center, left, and right”. Is it me or is this a bug? I am struggling to get the image and thumbnails to appear at the top of the SWF because of this bug. In the short term, can you tell me where these values are stored? Maybe I can manually set the value of “ngg_sv_vAlign” to “top” somewhere?

    Also, is there an easy way to center align the entire SWF in my post or page? I have tried the typical mechanisms (HTML and CSS) without success.

    Cheers!

  332. Brandon says:

    I decided to take a closer look at the php. I did the following:

    I opened “nggFlashSettings.php” and changed this area as follows:

    :

    <option value=”center” >
    <option value=”left” >
    <option value=”right” >
    ()

    :

    <option value=”middle” >
    <option value=”top” >
    <option value=”bottom” >
    ()

    Then I opened “nggFlashViewer.php” as changed it as follows:

    function ngg_fv_default_options() {

    /* Settings for SimpleViewer */
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_max_image_width'] = 640; // Width of your largest image in pixels. Used to determine the best layout for your gallery
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_max_image_height'] = 480; // Height of your largest image in pixels. Used to determine the best layout for your gallery.
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_text_color'] = “999999″; // Color of title and caption text (hexidecimal color value e.g 0xff00ff).
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_preloader_color'] = ’999999′; // Color of the loading bar (hexidecimal color value e.g 0xff00ff).
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_frame_color'] = “999999″; // Color of image frame, navigation buttons and thumbnail frame (hexidecimal color value e.g 0xff00ff).
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_frame_width'] = 1; // Width of image frame in pixels.
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_stage_padding'] = 40; // Distance between image and thumbnails and around gallery edge in pixels.
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_navPadding'] = 40; // Distance between image and thumbnails (pixels).
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_thumbnail_columns'] = 5; // Number of thumbnail rows. (To disable thumbnails completely set this value to 0.)
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_thumbnail_rows'] = 2; // Number of thumbnail columns. (To disable thumbnails completely set this value to 0.)
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_nav_position'] = “top”; // Position of thumbnails relative to image. Can be “top”, “bottom”,”left” or “right”.
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_vAlign'] = “top”; // Vertical placment of the image and thumbnails within the SWF. Can be “center”, “top” or “bottom”. For large format galleries this is best set to “center”. For small format galleries setting this to “top” or “bottom” can help get the image flush to the edge of the swf.
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_hAlign'] = “center”; // Horizontal placement of the image and thumbnails within the SWF. Can be “center”, “left” or “right”. For large format galleries this is best set to “center”. For small format galleries setting this to “left” or “right” can help get the image flush to the edge of the swf.
    $ngg_fv_options['ngg_sv_background_image_path'] = “”; // Relative or absolute path to a JPG or SWF to load as the gallery background.

    Fixed the bug and my vertical placement issue but this will break when you release an update unless you fix this… Thanks again!

    Hello.
    First – I really like the plugin, I saw it on some other site, played with it for a while and then decided to install it on my WP blog.

    The installation went smoothly, I uploaded all of the flash files etc. also, I renamed the folder and uploaded it in the “plugins” directory.

    And then I went to my gallery options, clicked on the “FlashViewer” option and I’ve gotten an error:

    “Fatal error: Call to undefined function showFlashViewerPage() in /home/aru3000/grupab/wp-content/plugins/nggflashviewer/nggflashviewer.php on line 730″

    I’m not sure if it’s becuse of me or becuse of the plugin. But I would appreciate any help.

    It looks like there is an issue with NextGEN v1.0.0 RC 2. I have that installed on WordPress 2.7 RC1, when I try to activate the ImageFlow extension plugin, it gives the following error message:
    “Sorry, NextGEN ImageFlow works only in combination with NextGEN Gallery.”
    Probably/hopefully a simple fix… ?
    Vewwy nice plugin btw :-)

    Marek “Aru” Pawelczyk, what versions are you running (wp, fv, ngg)? a link would be helpful as well…

  343. Abel says:

    Hi,

    I’m testing your plugin and it works very well. Even across different browsers. Thanks! See here. http://stagewp.loftynewmedia.com/2008/07/07062008/ .

    You’ll see that I also have a “Fullscreen” link at the bottom which opens the slideshow in lightbox view.

    Is there an option to place a link for Full Browser view exactly like http://www.airtightinteractive.com/projects/autoviewer/app/ ?

    Thanks again!

    WP 2.7, NG-Gallery 1.0.1

  349. Josh says:

    Hi Boris.

    Im fully upto date with Both wordpress core (2.7) and NGG (1.01) yet im still receiving the “The Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support are needed..” error.

    My next option will be to completely remove ngg and ngg flash from my wordpress install, wipe all entries to them from the db and do a complete reinstall, dunno if this will help tho?

  350. mouridis says:

    The upgrade was done by the book as always. The upgrade procedure is not the problem here… Still can’t figure what the problem is…

  351. mouridis says:

    I believe that for some reason NG-Flashviewer 1.2 does not recognize the existence of NGG 1.0.1 (not 1.0 – just the 1.0.1 specifically).

    I tried everything, except erasing all NGG db entries. I can’t afford to lose all my galleries…

  352. ollitsch says:

    hey, it’s the same with ngg 1.01. in my opinion it’s connected with the option “Use Slideshow” in tab “gallery”- it must be checked, then it works!!!

  353. Josh says:

    ollitsch, i assume you are reffering to the ‘integrate slideshow’ option in the galler tab of ngg 1.01 options. i already had this option set, but i tried unsetting it and then setting it again, but either way makes no difference :(

  354. ollitsch says:

    yes, this option i mean. i haven’t set it und i read in a another blog (don’t know the url) that you need to check this. i did it and it works. so maye the developer could say more?!

  355. mouridis says:

    Yes! The trick ollitsch suggests works fine with me too!

  356. jean pierre says:

    with postcard viewer and only with this i have a problem with the french accents (é è â ect…). I don’t see them on the images.

    and the answer is………use postcard viewerpro
    from Felix the author

    The embedded character set is ‘Basic Latin’. This means non-english characters will not appear. Bold and Italic fonts characters are not embedded. PostcardViewer-Pro includes the option to embed different fonts.

    i’m not so lucky about this because i don’t want to show the link to slideshow and i have a another problem: if i go to a gallery (thumbnail-list) the title inside the browser is “album 2<<gallery 55<< pics – …” – how can i get this off? but i think it’s a question to the developer from ngg ;)

  358. Josh says:

    I’ve just tried turning the Validate XHTML option on and off, but again, no difference :(

  359. ollitsch says:

    i’ve got a new workaround or fix for it: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/224730?replies=18 – so, you don’t need to check option integrate slideshow’ and it works fine ;)

  360. Josh says:

    HAHA I’ve managed to fix it. User error on my part :S

    Im pretty sure i didnt check this option, but I had the ngg effect in the effect tab set to highslide, i set it back to thickbox and it worked straight away.

    sorry for even thinking it was your great plugin boris ;)

    Hallo, habe fogendes Problem.

  362. rocketwood says:

    I am using the WordPress plugin and have a couple of questions about the flash player showing up in places other than the blog post, (1) how would you recommend removing the error message and the flash embed code from the RSS feed, and (2) how would recommend removing the square brackets and the associated WordPress embed code from ShareThis?

  363. Ben says:

    Hi,

    My plugin was working fine until I updated WordPress to 2.7. My whole site was a total mess so I had to reinstall a lot of plugins, but I finally managed to get everything working like before except the flash viewer.

    I looked at the html source of the page and I saw the swfobject.js include somewhere so it reminded me I already did something about it a couple of months ago. Of course I didn’t write down what I did, so I had to search again. I finally found that there was a conflict with the “simple flash video” plugin. This plugin indeed also includes the swfobject.js but it’s another version of the file. So I have two flash plugins that each require a different version of this file. Last time, all I did was copying the version from flash video to the next gen gallery includes (ie. I erased the older version of the file with the newer one).

    I did it again but it didn’t fix the problem (now the nextgen flash player was working but not the simple flash video one….argh!).

    Finally, all I had to do is add the following line to my theme’s header file:

    because it wasn’t included at all (only the version of simple flash video was). So, now, both versions are correctly included and it’s working. I still don’t understand why the flash player plugin doesn’t include its swfobject.js file.

    I don’t know if it can help someone but at least, if the same problem happen to me again in 6 months, I can go here and see what I did ;-)

    Ben

    Hi,

    Great plugin!!

    I’m trying to use it in my sidebar however it’s just coming up as code text in the sidebar widget.

    Is there a way I can get it to show up?

    Many thanks!
    Ben

  366. Jimmy says:

    Hi Boris/Alex,

    Thanks that worked. I deleted the nggflashviewer folder and started again and this time it worked! Not sure why. Perhaps it didn’t scp properly last time.

    Thanks so much for this plugin by the way. I love it!
    Jimmy

  367. Josh says:

    Im having trouble again! For some reason im getting the flashplayer/javascript error cropping up again, but only in Firefox, all works ok in IE7. Only change is that I upgraded NGG to 1.0.2.
    Any ideas?

  368. Boris says:

    Alright guys, read the upgrade notes :) Delete the old files, upload new ones and make sure you have WP 2.7 and NGG 1.0 installed…

  369. Boris says:

    Ok, I haven’t upgraded to 1.01 myself yet. Maybe there were some changes. I’ll look into it…

  370. Boris says:

    ollitsch, that might be because you have permalinks turned on.

  371. Boris says:

    Ben, I don’t need to include swfobject, because NextGEN Gallery is doing that for me already. NGG uses version swfobject 2.1, so I need to use that as well. Adjusting the simple flash video plugin to use version 2.1 should be very easy. Just have a look in my plugin how I included everything and repeat it .

    Rocketwood, I’ll have a look about the RSS stuff. It should be easy just inserting something like ‘If you want to watch this gallery, please visit the post’ message instead of the shortcode. I’m not that familiar with ShareThis really, so I don’t really know about that one.

  372. Boris says:

    Jimmy, have you followed the upgrade instructions? Deleted everything first and then uploaded the new files?

  373. Boris says:

    Nomadic Wax, you can just use the php function call, like this:

    < ?php echo nggShowSimpleViewer(galleryID,Width,Height) ?>

    If you want to use that in a widget you’d need a plugin first that let’s you write php into widgets.

    Jimmy, there were some changes, so it won’t work properly, if you just overwrite the files. Glad you got it to work.

    Merry Christmas everyone!
