Hello!
this:
“Search radius for users, activity and groups (available from BP 1.3)”
meaning this feature is not available until bp 1.3 is out?
also, is there a roadmap for the upcoming features, correlating to the versions leading up to 2.0?
this looks much, much better than the other options out there – gpress, which is free but busted, glocate, which is possibly a ripoff?
looking forward to your response! feel free to email me. I would love to use this on northwesternconnect.com, where we really need to search for members and filter content and whatnot.
lastly — is this a single license? Or could I purchase one, use on my two BuddyPress sites, then purchase again for 2.0?
thanks!
Search radius works already for users and activity. Only the groups search radius is not available yet.
The roadmap can be found here:
http://test.shabushabu.eu/2010/11/mapology-readme/
It’s more or less a fluid thing, though.
The plugin is only available as a multi-site license. This means you can use it on as many of your own sites as you want. You’ll have to purchase it again when v2.0 is available (if you want v2.0 that is :)
Hello, Does Mapology link in with buddyVents for locations?
If not, do you have plans to do so, I am working on a fully integrated event listing for my town that links in with Business locations.
I will be using profiles to add businesses.
Viewing an event you can click the location which will go to a page with the location, displaying image, description and a map, then below it will show all events at that location.
Thanks for the information!
Mapology and Buddyvents share the same user/group locations table, but it’s not really possible at the moment to do what you want.
You can get all the events within a certain distance of your location, but I guess that’s not really what you want.
A location based archive is a cool idea, though, so I’ll add that to the roadmap.
Thanks for the reply, I went ahead and purchased buddyvents, so far I love it! Holding off on mapology for now, but curious about something.
This changelog: Added: Support for Mapology and the options in the settings: Location Field ID – Will be ignored, if Mapology is activated.
What sort of integration do they share if its not locations linked to events?
P.S. I registered for forum support, but each time I go to login it just refreshes the page with the login fields blank.
cheers!
Hey Geet,
sorry for the late reply, mate! I’ve just added you to the support group for Buddyvents.
Mapology and Buddyvents share the same table for group and user coordinates.

Hi Boris – The Mapology plugin seems to do 90% of what I’m after – I’m well impressed with the route creator (something I desperately need!!)
The missing 10% is the ability to put routes into categories – such as walks, cycles, runs, etc… I see this is on v2.. But do you intend to show time/distance/ascent with the routes or add a GPX upload/download feature as kml isn’t very compatible with offline mapping software (e.g. Tracklogs and Memory Map) used by walkers and mountain bikers. This 10% is stuff my site already does by using gravity forms, but i need that route creator as well :-s
Any idea on when v2 will be released?
